The Patrick MacGill Festival
The inaugural Patrick MacGill Festival weekend seeks to celebrate the life, work and legacy of one of Donegal’s most famous authors and poets in the town where he grew up, Glenties. The Festival seeks to honour MacGill's life as a writer of rural life in Donegal, an exile, a worker at the margins of 20th-century society and a solder in the trenches of the First World War and to ensure his work remains accessible to new generations.
